Digital Nomad’s Guide to Lisbon

Wide image of yellow buildings and mediterranean sea in Lisbon.

Lisbon is an amazing mediterranean city that’s incredibly beautiful, a lot of fun, and (deservedly) a digital nomad hotspot. I’m happy to say it’s also very vegan friendly.

Coffee Shops

COMOBÅ

Rua da Boavista 90, 1200-085 Lisboa, Portugal

Lisbon’s become so popular with digital nomads that many cafes have instituted no-laptop policies. Thankfully, Comobå just relegated laptops to certain tables. It’s also aesthetically superb, with great coffee and some solid vegan food options.

The Therapist

R. Rodrigues de Faria 103, 1300-501 Lisboa, Portugal

I’m not sure if you can work here on a laptop or not, but it’s the best coffee place in LX Factory (more on that below). Also has some great vegan food options.

Cowork Cafe

Rua de S. Paulo 109, 1200-066 Lisboa

I didn’t actually go into this place, because I’m a WeWork member and they charge €17 to work there. But if I wasn’t a WeWork member, I would have definitely paid because it looks like a nice place, and it’s in a very cool area.

Restaurants

Ao 26 (Vegan Food Project)

R. Horta Seca 5, 1200-213 Lisboa

Probably the hands down best vegan restaurant in Lisbon. Very classy. Great food.

The Green Affair

Giving Vegan Food Project a run for their money, the Green Affair is also very classy, with an excellent menu. Service each time I went was shockingly fast.

Vegan Junkies

R. Luciano Cordeiro 28, 1150-300 Lisboa

If you’re looking for a more casual vegan resto option, for something like a quick lunch, Vegan Junkies is perfect. The music selection was likewise on point.

Parks and Recreation

LX Factory

Very cool little area with nice cafes, restaurants, shops, and art.

Museum of Contemporary Art – MAC/CCB

Praça do Império, 1449-003 Lisboa

Excellent art museum with interesting exhibits and a permanent gallery featuring an abbreviated history of the last century’s European and American art.
